The Golf Courses - Park Hotel San Jorge Golf Break
Emporda has two striking golf courses to choose from, the classic Links course and the tree lined Forest course. The Links course is true to it's name containing many elements of a classic links course close to the sea. With sand dune lined fairways which shape the holes, 2 large lakes to contend with and many challenging bunkers throughout. This 18 hole par 72 golf course measuring 6,746 yards is a joy and a challenge to play. The Forest course is laid out in an alternative style to the links course with wide rolling fairways lined by pine trees. Though the trees may be waiting to snare any stray golf balls they also provide protection from the wind on blowy days. The Forest course is an 18 hole par 72 woodland course which measures 6,742 yards.
Golf de Pals is an 18 hole par 73 woodland course measuring 6,922 yards. The course originally opened in 1966 having been designed by Sir F.W. Hawtree and is regarded as one of the finest courses in the area having hosted many professional tournaments since its inception. Narrow tree lines fairways and clever design will put your skills to the test.
Golf d’Aro Mas Nou is set in a beautiful location 300m above sea level in the Gavarres mountains which affords spectacular views of the Costa Brava coastline. An 18 hole par 72 parkland course measuring 6,210 yards from the back tees. Featuring tree lined fairways, two large lakes and numerous bunkers which require good planning to finish the round with a good score.
The Stadium Course at PGA Catalunya offers golfers a breathtaking journey through the forestry at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains. The golf course can be played from five separate tee positions, with even the most daring golfers wary of the back tees, which measures the course at 7,200 yards. Precision will be just as important as length here to fall fondly of the tree lined fairways, numerous lakes and tactically bunkered greens.
The Tour Course can be viewed as the more amicable younger brother. Though just as scenic in its layout with the Pyrenees mountains providing the backdrop the course is found to be less challenging but just as enjoyable to play. The course measures 6,453 yards and allows for more room on the fairways, though they are still framed by the natural woodland, large lakes and challenging bunkers.
