The Golf Courses - MAC Puerto Marina Golf Breaks
Torrequebrada golf course is considered by many to be one of the must play courses in the Costa del Sol. A course which carries all of the qualities of some of its more distinguished neighbours without the heavy price tag. A design by Jose Gancedo to incorporate the natural beauty of the pine, palm and olive trees whilst looking out over the Mediterranean sea. The fairways are always in a good condition leading you towards large greens with a fantastic putting surface. Though some care will need to be taken on the approach to traverse the hazardous well placed bunkers and several lakes. An 18 hole, par 72 parkland course measuring 6,399 yards which opened in 1976 and has since held the Spanish Open.
Santana golf course is another gem that many golfers love playing and will often perform repeat visits. A design by Cabell B Robinson that is set on a former avocado plantation where you can still see many of the original tree species throughout the course such as avocado, eucalyptus, cork oak, orange and lemon which all add to the splendour of the tranquil setting. You will find wide fairways without too much undulation which take you up to spacious greens. There are several water features and some of the greens are quite well protected by the surrounding bunkers. An 18 hole, par 72 parkland course which measures 6,788 yards from the back tees.
Santa Maria golf course is set amongst a stunning valley with a pine and oak tree forest covering the mountainous backdrop all whilst providing a beautiful view out towards the Mediterranean sea. Originally opened as a 9 hole golf course designed by Antonio Garcia Garrido. With the increasing popularity of the course a second 9 holes was added in 1996 that was designed by the clubs own technical staff creating the course we know and love today. An 18 hole, par 70 parkland course which only stretches to 6,107 yards at the tips. The great design proves that a long course is not necessary to create an entertaining and challenging golf course to be enjoyed by golfers of all abilities.
