About the destination
The 4* Hotel Isla Canela Golf Resort in Huelva enjoys a tranquil setting in between the 17th and 18th holes of Isla Canela golf course, whilst being directly next to the River Guadiana which separates Spain and Portugal. The resort benefits from 300 days of sunshine a year which can be thoroughly enjoyed when making a trip to the nearby beach. Though the hotel is in Spain the nearest airport is Faro in Portugal which is about an hour away.
The hotel has 58 guest rooms with options for standard rooms, 2 junior suites and rooms that can accommodate 3 people. Every room has air conditioning, Wi-Fi, hairdryer, safe deposit box and a balcony with a view of the golf course. There are also 100 apartments for those would prefer self catered accommodation.
Thebussem Restaurant serves Mediterranean and International dishes whilst overlooking the golf course from the first floor. The Bar and Terrace is a great place to enjoy the sunshine after a round of golf which serves tapas, sandwiches and snacks.

The Golf Course - Hotel Isla Canela Golf Break
Isla Canela golf course is just a couple hundred metres away from the hotel and can be reached from there with relative ease. The course takes full advantage of the stunning natural habitat surrounding it making it relatively flat with gentle slopes, whilst shaping the course through its use of the surrounding marshland and olive, orange & eucalyptus trees. You will find firm and fast greens, water on 10 of the holes and views that stretch down to the Atlantic Ocean. An 18 hole, par 72 parkland course that measures 6,824 yards from the black tees that was designed by Juan Catarineu and opened for play in 1993.
Valle Guadiana Links golf course is a 15 minute drive away from Isla Canela Hotel and complimentary return transfers are provided. The course runs alongside the Guadiana River and has an American style feel to it with wide and open fairways, though the front and back nines have different styles of play. The front nine has a distinct links feel to it whilst the back nine is further away from the river and the prevailing winds though there is the odd water hazard to navigate. The course originally opened as Costa Esuri golf club in 2007 before being purchased by Isla Canela in 2019. An 18 hole, par 72 parkland course designed by Jose Canales that measures 7,153 yards from the black tees.
