The Golf Courses - Islantilla Golf Break
Islantilla golf course has three loops of nine holes - Blue, Green and Yellow. The three layouts have been designed to provide a variety of hazards so all of the courses will play differently. The blue course was planned with the lower handicaps in mind and offers a stiffer test for players of all abilities. The longer green course was designed for the middle handicapper and requires accuracy throughout the round and the yellow course compliments the other two well being designed for the higher handicapped player. All of the courses are prime for stunning sea and coastal views. This fantastic golf course hosted the Challenge Tour in 1993.
La Moncailla golf course is a wonderful design by Jose Maria Olazabal which opened for play in 2011. The course works it way gently through a pine forest giving tree lined fairways, though the fairways are wide and easy to hit if you are able to avoid the strategically placed bunkers and several large lakes. When designing the course Olazabel took great care to blend the features beautifully in to the Mediterranean landscape providing some stunning views throughout the round. The greens are large with soft undulations and protected by numerous bunkers. An 18 hole par 72 course that can measure up to 7531 yards when played from the black tees. Though there are five sets of tees which can shorten the course to 5,302 yards.
Bellavista golf club originally opened as Bellavista Huelva club in 1916 as a British style golf club. The club underwent a large renewal with the front 9 holes of the new course built in 1976 and designed by D. Luis Recasens with the back 9 holes following in 1995. The two sets of 9 have a distinctly different feel to them. With the front 9 holes being shorter in length with tighter fairways and more compact greens. The back 9 holes plays longer with more generous fairways and substantial greens. The contrast between the two makes for an exciting round of golf. An 18 hole par 70 course that measures 6,350 yards when played from the back tee’s.
