The Golf Courses - Golf In Kent
Royal St George's hosted the first Open Championship to be played outside of Scotland and has held it an impressive thirteen times since. With undulating fairways and fast greens providing a good test of golf for players of all abilities. Featuring the UK's tallest and deepest bunker. An 18 hole, par 70 links golf course measuring 6,340 yards. The scenery during the round of golf is truly mesmerising, with every hole looking out over the straight of Dover
Royal Cinque Ports also hugs the dramatic coastline close to the White Cliffs of Dover providing spectacular views during your round of golf. The course takes its shape from the many large sand dunes that are present throughout and can make for a precarious stance when playing your next shot. An 18 hole, par 71 links course measuring 6,498 yards, featuring many bunkers and excellent putting surfaces.
Prince's golf course is the place where Gene Sarazen first used the modern sand wedge at The Open Championship in 1932, to the great help of every golfer who has played the game since. The course consists of 3 loops of 9 holes - the Dunes, Shore & Himalayas. The Dunes & Shore are the premier layout which accounts for the 18 hole, par 72 Championship links golf course measuring 7,204 yards from the back tees. The Himalayas is know to be a bit more forgiving.
Walmer & Kingsdown golf course majestically sits atop the White Cliffs of Dover with sea views from every hole creating panoramic views across the English Channel. The chalk cliffs beneath the course provide excellent drainage ensuring the course is playable virtually all year round. The sea breeze and pitched terrain need to be taken in to account when deciding which shot to play. An 18 hole, par 72 clifftop links course measuring 6,471 yards.
North Foreland Golf Club has two golf courses on its premises. The par 71 Main course, and the par 54 Northcliffe course. The Main course features wide fairways with strategically placed bunkers to catch any stray golf balls. Which is easily done when having to contest with the sea breeze on top of the cliffs. The sea is visible from every hole on the course providing for some striking views of the coast. An 18 hole par 71 links style course measuring 6,128 yards with four par 3's, three par 5's and eleven par 4's.
Littlestone golf course was founded in 1888 and held the Ladies British Open soon after. The course has hosted many professional events throughout its illustrious career and is set to host The Junior Open in 2020. An 18 hole, par 71 links course measuring 6,156 yards with relatively flat terrain. The course is playable most of the year round, with the fast paced greens a pride of the golf course.
Leeds Castle golf course is a 9 hole par 34 course situated in over 500 acres of estate surrounding Leeds Castle. Perfect for a golf in Kent warm up round.
Hever Castle Golf Club is comprised of 3 loops of 9 holes and offers picturesque scenery being in an Area of Natural Beauty. The Kings and Queens comprises the premier 18 hole, par 72 Championship parkland course measuring 7,002 yards and has hosted the EuroPro Tour, The Kent Open and Kent PGA Championship. The Princes is a 9 hole par 35 course measuring 2,784 yards and makes for a great addition to the portfolio. Featuring tree lined fairways and several water hazards provides a test for golfers of all abilities.
London Golf Club is home to two Championship golf courses, the International which is open to the public and the Heritage which is a private members course. The International course is a creation by Jack Nicklaus Design which poses a challenge to professionals and amateurs alike. Having twice hosted the European Open, as well as the Volvo World Match Play Championship, European Tour Qualifying School and the Open Championship Regional Qualifying.
