About the destination
The 4* Four Views Monumental Hotel is a high rise hotel in Funchal, Madeira that has sublime panoramic views of the coastline and Atlantic Ocean. Situated in Lido the heart of the tourist area with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby to enjoy your evening activities.
The hotel has 262 modern and comfortable guest rooms with the hotel being most recently renovated in 2014. The rooms come in a range of standard, superior, studios, apartments and suites. Each room has air conditioning, Wi-Fi, TV, tea & coffee facilities, hairdryer, safe and a balcony with mountain or sea views.
The Atlantic Restaurants serves a mixture of local and international cuisine with a buffet in the morning, a la carte at lunch and a combination of both for an evening meal. Al Fresco bar has a lovely terrace to enjoy the sun with the Awards Bar being a great place for evening cocktails.
There are plenty of great facilities to enjoy during your stay with two saltwater pools, a gymnasium with billiards and table tennis in the games room. Guests can also make use of the Spa with a heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room, hammam, roman bath, jacuzzi and a range of massage treatments.
Three rounds of golf are included in this package at Palheiro, Santo de Serra and Porto Santo. Porto Santo golf course is on a neighbouring island where we have included a return ferry and golf shuttles to take you to the golf course. The ferry takes around 2 - 2.5 hours each way, if this is undesirable you could always choose to play your third round of golf at Palheiro or Santo de Serra.

The Golf Course - Four Views Monumental Golf Breaks
Santo de Serra golf course is a true gem on the island of Madeira. Situated high above the bay of Machico and offering amazing panoramic views across the island and out to sea. The course has hosted the Madeira Open a staggering 20 times since 1993 which indicates the quality of the course. You will find wide fairways that are easy to hit but everything becomes a lot trickier during the approach shot as the greens are quite small and the change in undulation makes them difficult to read accurately. There are 27 holes consisting of 3 loops of 9 – Machico (3,430 yards par 36), Desertas (3,396 yards par 36) & Serras (3,193 yards par 36). The Machico and Desertas combination is the premier layout that has hosted the Madeira Open with Serras providing a less challenging route. The course originally opened in 1937 but underwent a complete redesign by Robert Trent Jones Snr in 1991.
Palheiro golf course is nearly 500m above sea level and as such enjoys superb views throughout the round of the dramatic coastline down to the old town of Funchal and across the bay. A design by Cabell B. Robinson in 1993 that was intentionally designed to blend wonderfully in to the beautiful countryside that surrounds it. The course was renovated in 2003 to add two new holes to the Championship course and build a 6 hole academy course that is perfect for a warm up or to test your accuracy. An 18 hole, par 72 parkland / links course that measures 6,656 yards from the back tees. The course can be enjoyed by golfers of all abilities with precision being favoured over power, however the fast greens and various hazards can still be difficult to navigate.
Porto Santo golf course can be seen as a tale of two halves with the front 9 holes having a classic American feel to it with large fairways that are broken up by several lakes. The back 9 holes is a completely different game as you play across the cliff tops with mesmerizing views of the landscape leading down to the Ocean. Some tee shots here are played across gaping chasms on to elevated greens, a true test of being able to hold your nerve against the magnetic feeling water below. A Severiano Ballesteros design that holds true to his classic 6 x par 3’s, 6 x par 4’s & 6 x par 5’s with an S shaped bunker for Seve. An 18 hole, par 72 cliff top course measuring 7,036 yards when played from the white tees.
