The Dorset Golf Resort & Country Club

At the Dorset Golf and Country Club near Poole  there is the option to stay at the hotel or in the quaint 2 bedroom Lodge’s. The Dorset Golf Resort has a great choice of being able to play 18 holes from 3 different 9 hole courses - Lakeland, Parkland & Woodland courses.

The 4* Dorset Golf Hotel is attached to the Bowls and Fitness centre and has 16 well designed and comfortable guest rooms all with en-suite bathrooms, tea and coffee facilities, TV and great views of the stunning surrounding grounds. The wooden 5* Resort Lodge's are made from the Nordic Forests of Finland and are for groups of 4 to 8 people, coming in a range of 2 or 3 bedroom lodge's. Each lodge has 2 professional sofa beds to be able to sleep a couple of extra people if needed. The Lodge's come fully equipped with a kitchen, log burning stove, balcony and a private sauna.

The Fairways Restaurant is where you will be taking your evening 3 course meal which are designed using locally selected produce. The Clubhouse Bar is also a great place to take refreshments after a round of golf or enjoy a light snack. The Fitness Centre is available to use by all guests and also comes complete with a dry sauna. The Resort also has private fishing lakes, indoor long and short mat bowling and woodland walks & jogging trails.

The Dorset golf resort presents 27 holes of challenging championship golf in the wonderful Dorset countryside. Each of the three loops of 9 - Lakeland (1-9), Parkland (10-18) and Woodland (19-27) – are built to USGA specifications and weave endlessly through woods and lakes which come into play on several occasions. The three courses were designed by Martin Hawtree who received much praise for his recent re-design of Royal Birkdale for the British Open.

The Lakeland and Parkland courses are the premier layout of the resort and are also the longest, measuring over 7000 yards from the Championship tees with water being in play on more than half of the holes. A par 72 parkland course designed to test every aspect of your golf game with large undulating greens protected by Hawtree's trademark clover styled bunkers.

The Woodlands course is a little shorter than the other two and weaves it's way through a forest of Rhododendrons. This course is a treat for the eyes in the months of May and June with an impressive display of flowers lining the fairways on every hole. Try not to be too distracted as accuracy is paramount at The Dorset Golf & Country Club, with the course being designed to play slightly different in the summer and winter months, with the ball running further in the better weather.
