The Golf Courses - Tivoli Marina Vilamoura Golf Break
The Royal course at Vale do Lobo is iconic on the Algarve golf scene, with the cliff top par 3 16th hole that requires you to play across a daunting chasm. The Atlantic ocean is to your left and it can throw a challenging wind at you for one of the most visually stunning golf holes to be found for miles around. An 18 hole, par 72 clifftop course that was originally designed on paper by Sir Henry Cotton and implemented by Rocky Roquemore which measures 6,626 yards from the back tees. A course that features undulating fairways with lakes and pine trees providing natural obstacles.
The Ocean course at Vale do Lobo is derived from two 9 hole courses designed by Sir Henry Cotton that opened in 1968 and 1972. The two courses merged to become the much loved Ocean course in 1995. The Ocean course also has sublime views of the coast line and runs alongside a nature reserve. An 18 hole, par 72 clifftop course that measures 6,712 yards from the back tees that features rolling fairways amidst pine, eucalyptus and olive trees. Accuracy is required for a good score round this golf course.
